The Rabbit hOle is working in association with the Kansas City Public Library and the Crossroads Academy to launch an annual children’s literature festival in downtown Kansas City. 

The first annual LitFestKC event is scheduled for April 28th and 29th, 2017.

 This year’s presenters include our first National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature - Jon Scieszka - along with 2016 Caldecott Medal winner Sophie Blackall, John Bemelmans Marciano, Nina Crews, Shane Evans, Brian Selznick, and 2017 Coretta Scott King and Caldecott Medal winner Javaka Steptoe!!

Seven Authors! Two Venues! One Spectacular Evening! April 28.

LitFest KC will feature a Kids Day (Friday, April 28) open to school groups and families, and an all-day Conference (Saturday, April 29) for teachers, librarians, artists, and writers. Both days will be staged at the Central Library, located at 14 W. 10th St.

KIDS DAY | APRIL 28 
Central Library (9am - 2pm)

School groups and families (with grades 1-6) may attend the event in morning or afternoon sessions. Attendees will sign up to see two authors in 50-minute presentations.

CONFERENCE DAY | APRIL 29
Central Library (8am - 3pm)

The Rabbit hOle is a non-profit dedicated to creating new and extraordinary experiences around literature. Currently operating out of a workshop and fundraising headquarters in the Crossroads, The Rabbit hOle is raising money to build the world's first Explor-a-Storium! The Explor-a-Storium will deliver Kansas City’s first truly immersive ‘museum’ experience and make the city a national center for children’s literature.
